A baseball icon in Fairbanks and General Manager of the Alaska Goldpanners, Don led the Goldpanners as the most successful non-professional team in the history of baseball which includes the world renowned Midnight Sun Game.  Don was instrumental in the formation of the original Borough Parks and Recreation Board that set up structured maintenance on all baseball fields along with his fellow inductees Ken Rankin and Carroll Barber.  Don was also the Director of American Legion Baseball as well as the Babe Ruth Baseball program where Goldpanner players coached, umpired, and fully directed the league.  Goldpanner players continue to hold clinics for youth baseball today.
